Ningbo's cross-border e-commerce imports and exports up 16.1% year-on-year in Q1


 On 29 April, the third press conference of the series of press conferences on the theme of ‘Stabilising Progress, Taking the Lead and Making Contributions’ highlighted a set of data: in the first quarter, cross-border e-commerce imports and exports in Ningbo grew by 16.1% year-on-year, which was 7.5 percentage points higher than the growth rate of foreign trade imports and exports. Among them, the export value of cross-border E-commerce special zone increased by more than 90% year-on-year.

 The number of cross-border e-commerce operators continues to increase. At present, Ningbo has 17,000 cross-border e-commerce enterprises, built 16 provincial cross-border e-commerce industrial parks, and cultivated 37 provincial cross-border e-commerce export brands, the number of which ranked the forefront in Zhejiang Province.

 The layout of ‘one-stop and two warehouses’ has been improved. Ningbo will ‘one station and two warehouses’ as an important support for ‘buy global, sell global’. Up to now, Ningbo has 74 enterprises that have built and operated 223 overseas warehouses in the world, with an area of 3.66 million square metres, and the volume of export overseas warehouses is among the highest in China.

 The regulatory service ecology continues to be optimised. Ningbo is the first city to introduce new measures such as front warehouse supervision of cross-border e-commerce exports and ‘embedded’ supervision of parcels, and promotes the linkage of five ports, namely ‘sea, land, air, mail and information’, in an effort to create the ‘best’ ecosystem for cross-border e-commerce. The ‘best’ ecosystem for cross-border e-commerce is being created.
